Sudden wave of patriotism
This year's NDP was spectacular! Loved the march-in, fireworks, cute costumes and stuff. Watching it on TV reaffirmed why I really wanna be at Marina and see it live next year (or next next year...) - the atmosphere's just different! And fireworks' the prettiest when seen live, not on TV. Most importantly, I wanna be there, singing out loud, waving the nation's flag, wearing red, with hundreds of others like me.
National Day always causes people to reflect and think about our nation. And while I constantly complain about the weather, education system and everything under the sun, I really do think I'm fortunate to be able to call this place home. Like seriously, there's no fear of getting robbed walking down the streets midnight, corrupted government, and many other positive parts about our nation, though we may not see it at times, like how our education system is actually beneficial, 10years down the road. I'm sure there's many others who feel the same.
So....
Happy belated birthday, Singapore! :)
