Much less of an instinctive need for survival, humans live in houses to isolate themselves and to give themselves a place called home, be it a safe haven from worldly problems and people, or a peaceful setting to escape temporarily, from the stress of urban living. In my opinion, house is somewhere private. And in this ever interconnected world with people constantly around each other - virtually or physically, I feel an increasing need for personal and private space.
[Psst if you're on my Twitter or in the know of my recent rants, well yes here you have it, the answer to my obstinance and somewhat unjustified anger and rage. And if the above doesn't quite reason my anger, I quote John Stuart Mill, 'Over his own mind and body, the individual is sovereign' ]
I sometimes miss those days when we weren't reliant on mobile phones or the Internet. Sure, I'm all for the late night texting with friends, Twitter, Tumblr and of course, blogging, all of which conveniences and sources of modern day entertainment brought about by both the (smart)phone and the Internet era. But there are also days I'm cursing the convenience of my Nexus as it distracts me and leads me off course ( sure, I'm the one lacking discipline but it's always easier to put the blame on others..) , days where I just wanna be left alone, take a little breather , have a little break from the rest of the population.
-Abrupt End-
PS. Now you know why it's named Raw. Would love to stay longer and develop my point but since prelims is still ongoing and I'm waking at an insane before-9am-timing tomorrow, I deem it wise to post this, albeit in its raw and incomplete stage, rather than holding on to this post till God knows when.
