24th July - Matriculation day

Wasted the entire day at the other end of Singapore cos I wanted to make my journey to Kent Ridge worth. Morning was spent queueing for matriculation and roaming about the matric/cca fair. Matriculation was awkward with an entire hall of alphabet A-Hs but none that I knew. CCA fair that followed was overwhelming - as like any other cca showcase. I went with the intention of joining MuayThai but after yesterday, I now have NUSSU, NUSBlast! and boxing swimming in my head. Sigh, bad news for an indecisive kid.

I also took the chance to get my NUS DBS card since they had a booth set up. While queueing for the bank forms, I was thinking that with so many NUS cards, if I got robbed or stabbed to death and the cops found my wallet next to my body, they would be clear of my identity. (I watch way too much HK drama) But yea, I'm feeling like a NUS ambassador right now. First step towards university life , yay?

By late noon I was accompanying Jt to collect her hall key at Sheares. Was practically spazzing at her hall cos it's super nice ( Sheares' one of the newer halls along with Kent Ridge ) and it looked like a typical condo on the outside. Toured around abit and went exploring the different levels of her block before we went back to her hall. Since her mother was only going to bring her luggage in the evening, we ended up taking a nap before heading to Vivo to grab some things.


25th July - a day for good news

Good news no.1 : Did my routine email check and saw that OSA sent me an email with regards to my hostel application. More specifically, upon logging into the portal, it was OFFERED : KENT RIDGE  // SINGLE ROOM  I jumped around like a lunatic for like 3mins.

Everyone in my social circle that has been talking to me would know I am dying for my own hall and I have been applying since first window. My application was unsuccessful and since then I've tried several attempts in hope of getting one during the second window selection. Friends around me received news of their offer within days but weeks passed and I still didn't receive any email about mine. In truth, I was really praying for a miracle even though i still continued checking my email everyday, just in case the news came and it really did! No more dreadfully long journeys to and fro school, trying to cram my timetable into as little days as possible or fear of not being able to commit to my future CCA. And after sharing room with the brother for the past 14 years, hello to a room I can call my own. I'm beyond excited thinking of how to decorate my new hall, adapting to a new environment, making friends with my neighbours and leading a vibrant freshman year and hall life! Super thankful for this happy bomb of a news.

Good news no.2 : My orders from NOQstore got delivered earlier this evening! Super love NOQstore ever since Qy introduced it to me. The first time round I purely ordered books for Qy as part of her birthday present (still lying nicely in my room) , but this time round I got myself three books. Super pleased with NOQstore for their swift delivery (expected date was 23rd July - 1st August) and even happier to get my hands on my new books.
